Stop Sitting on Your Ideas: How to Go Live in Under 10 Minutes

The "old way" of going live involved DNS settings, server configurations, and enough technical jargon to send any "Hunter" brain running for the hills. In this second part of the series, I’m showing you how to bypass that four-hour technical slog and get your site live on a real domain in under 10 minutes of your own time.

Step 1: Claim Your Digital Territory

The first thing every business needs is a home. I recommend using a service like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or names.co.ukto find your domain.

For our fictitious ironing business, I found ironingstarbromley.co.uk for just £3.84 for the year. It’s a tiny investment that makes your business look professional from day one.

Step 2: The Claude-to-Terminal "Bridge"

This is where most people get stuck, but as a "Hunter," you’re going to use a shortcut. I don’t know how to code, so I act as a "bridge" between the AI and my computer’s terminal.

I simply asked Claude for the step-by-step instructions to get the site live. Claude provided the specific bits of code that I pasted directly into my terminal window. You don’t even need to understand what the commands mean—you just follow the AI's lead.

Step 3: Pointing the Way (DNS Records)

To make sure the world can find you, you have to tell your domain where your website is "living." This involves setting up A Records.

• You copy the IP address provided by your server.

• You paste it into your domain's Advanced DNS settings.

• You save the changes, and within minutes, the message spreads across the internet that your site is ready.

Step 4: The "S" in HTTPS (Security)

Nobody likes visiting a site that triggers a "Dangerous Site" warning. That’s why we add an SSL certificate. Again, I just let Claude handle the heavy lifting by giving me the terminal commands to request the certificate.

Once that’s done, you have a secure, professional HTTPS site that people can trust.

The 20-Minute Miracle

When I say "under 10 minutes," I mean under 10 minutes of your effort. For an ADHD brain, a four-hour technical slog is terrifying—it's where ideas go to die. But a 10-minute build followed by a 10-minute launch? That’s a dopamine hit that actually results in a functioning business.
